Strengthening DLP
Sharing confidential or proprietary information with third parties is essential to business collaboration, however, it introduces obvious security risks. InDorse Watermark* enables secure sharing of documents and images by embedding copyright and transaction IDs in the fabric of the file. This information can be used to identify file ownership and third parties authorized to view the data.
The InDorse Watermark Process
The process is transparent to the end-user, and no additional software is required on the client. A robust, invisible watermark is embedded into each file, providing a mechanism for proving ownership and assigning accountability in the event of redistribution beyond the intended recipient. Optionally, a visible watermark can be applied to notify third parties of the confidentiality of the data and further deter unauthorized use. Watermarked files are converted into non-editable format.
If unauthorized use is suspected, InDorse Web Crawler can search for the watermark on public blogs and Web sites. The watermark is then read, proving the origin of the data; the source of the leak may also be identified, depending upon how you choose to associate text with the transaction ID.
